pomes, a short poem collection, is done!
Happy to share that my collection of short poems, pomes, is done!
My collection of short poems, or pomes as I call it, is now in compilation form! I've been submitting individual poems from the collection to journals. So far pieces have been published or are forthcoming in Anodyne Magazine, the Champagne Room, and Deep Overstock. Eventually I'd like to publish the full book. If you have any recommendations for journals, publishing houses, or contests, feel free to let me know. "Sandy" is a nickname I've used as a pen name, but these are all published under Emily.
Filson commissioned this profile piece on Liberty Miller, who at the time worked as the only year-round live-aboard for the Boat Company, an adventure that led to me editing her memoir.
Micah & the Worry Stone is a children's book about courage, co-authored by Julie Campilio and me and illustrated by the talented Kara Larson. We'd love you to share it with the children in your life!
HOARSE was a lit journal co-edited with Elena Moffet, lovingly designed by Gregory Flores, and founded by the three of us in Seattle. We had really fun parties.
My poem 'Blue Field' was published in Anodyne Magazine, a Berlin-based trimesterly magazine giving voices to FLINTA (womyn/females, lesbians, intersex, non-binary, trans + agender people).
My adventure in mining through 125 years of archival materials to produce a column for NY Lawyer magazine.
